Speaker: Tim Simon, MAC
Topic Overview: Tim Simon, Chief Financial Officer for the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), will join us to share MAC’s background and history, airline industry trends, MAC’s road to recovery from COVID’s impact on travel and finances, and what the future holds for the award-winning Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.
Speaker Bio:
Tim Simon joined the MAC in 2020 as its vice president, Finance and Revenue Development. He has expertise in a wide range of roles related to government finance, supported by decades of experience.
Tim joined the MAC after serving as the chief financial officer at the city of St. Louis Park, and was previously the finance director for the city of Elk River. He also spent five years in the Minnesota State Auditor’s Office.
Tim is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association (MNGFOA). Tim is also a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He holds a B.A in accounting from the College of St. Scholastica and M.B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas. Tim has also completed the Advanced Government Finance Institute Program.
