The Invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer

Join us for the extended, monthly luncheon on August 15th at the lovely and scenic Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska!  Our speaker will be Mark Abrahamson with the Minnesota Agriculture Department.   Mark will enlighten us on the invasion of the emerald ash borer, which has spread to fourteen states since its accidental introduction in the 1990s.  Communities in some locations are anticipating costs in the millions of dollars to respond to the massive tree damage caused by the non-native insect.  The Arboretum is birthplace of the Honeycrisp apple, and the $20/person cost for the event will include a tour of the beautiful 1,100+ acres of gardens, trees and plant collections owned and operated by the University of Minnesota.  Lunch will be catered by the Arboretum’s chef, and online reservations and payments are open now at www.mngfoa.org, which are required to ensure an accurate participant count.  Ink it in your calendar!  You won’t want to miss out!
