Another year, ANOTHER legislative session, and ANOTHER ONE coming around the corner before ya know it!  Come join your peers and friends to learn what the Minnesota Legislature “accomplished” this year and discuss what to expect next year.  Patricia Nauman, the Executive Director of Metro Cities, will provide us with an overview of the session and the ins and outs of our esteemed elected officials at the Capitol, with particular attention to the adopted laws that impact cities.

In her position as Executive Director, Patricia Nauman, helps represent the organization’s 85 member cities across the metropolitan region before the Legislature and Metropolitan Council on issues of regional and statewide significance.  She has served Metro Cities for eight years, acting as a government Relations Specialist before taking her current position in January of 2009.  She specializes in state tax policy, housing, economic development, and metropolitan governance and policy issues.  Prior to her work at Metro Cities in 2005, Ms. Nauman was on staff in the Minnesota State Legislature, serving as the Committee Administrator to the Senate Taxes committee as well as the Committee Administrator for the Senate K-12 Education Finance Division.  Ms. Nauman began her career in city Government with Columbia Heights Housing and Redevelopment Authority, where she administered the city’s housing improvement programs.  She is a graduate of the College of St. Catherine and resides in Minneapolis.
